Day 2 Sept 9th

I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. My alarm went off at 7:15AM, hit the snooze…. 7:24, snooze.. 7:33, snooze… 7:42, snooze.. Srew it! I’m gonna turn this thing off so I can get some sleep. … 7:50AM, Damn it! I’m up and racing around the house looking for my sneakers to make it to the 8AM WOD. …. Arrive at the gym, it’s so crowded! Especially for a Sunday morning. I like working out on Sundays b/c there’s usually only lilke 10 of us.. today there must be over 20!Power cleans are on the menu for this morning. I grab a 35lb bar, and 2 15lb plates to start warming up. Oh man, this is tough, I knew I should have stayed in bed! 65lbs has never felt heavier! .. oh well. Grab my 24″ box for box jumps and set up my little station for the 1st WOD.  I get through my 1st 3 Power Cleans & 5 box jumps, during my 2 minute rest I’m thinking. I better put on some more weight, if I max out at 65lbs today that will be pretty lame of me. … so I go to throw on some 10’s and realize that I have 35lb plates on each side!! OMG, so my 65lb was actually 105lb… hmmm, I knew that felt heavy! DAMN! Now I’m feeling a little better about my workout 🙂

My Food Today

After my workout this morning I had a scoop of whey protein powder with cold water.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, few berries

Lunch: Shake of Whey protein powder, 1/2 banana, 1 tsp Almond butter & coconut water

Snack: 3oz grilled chicken (olive oil, garlic, lemon, salt & pepper) on top of kale, cranberries & pine nuts

Appetizer/Dinner: Endive Salmon poppers, with avocado & red onion. Homemade chicken veggie soup!

Day 2 was a success! I woke up with a bit of a headache.. I don’t drink that much coffee, so I know it’s not a caffeine headache. I’m guessing my body is detoxying from sugar, wheat & alcohol (??) … besides that, my only other complaint would be how much I’m going to the bathroom now! I don’t usually drink enough water (or any water)  I was running to the bathroom  every 15 minutes today. … and I’m not exagerating :-/  . On the up side, I feel fantastic! I know it’s only been 2 days, but it feels good just knowing I’m doing something healthy for myself. I’m really looking forward to seeing changes in my body over the next few weeks as well.
